Title: 1766 George III British Mortgage Bond Manuscript Signed “Chas. Miller” with Revenue Stamp & Red Wax Seal

Original English legal mortgage bond dated October 1766, during the reign of King George III. The document is handwritten on period stamped paper with an embossed British revenue stamp and a printed “Nine Pence Quire” duty mark.

Handwritten text begins: “Know all Men by these Presents that I, Charles Miller of Farmington in the County of Gloucester, Esquire…” The bond states an obligation in the sum of “Three Thousand Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain,” with the “Condition of the above written Obligation” describing the mortgage transaction and securing repayment of approximately £1,560.

The bond is signed “Chas. Miller.” A red wax seal remains beside the signature. The reverse includes language referencing “Thomas Fisher” and property in Farmington, Gloucestershire, with the obligation to be void or remain in force.

Antique condition with expected folds, toning, staining, and age-related wear; remarkably complete for its age.
