Miss Daisy’s Consignment & Auction House has very strict quality standards—we are not a thrift store. Items must be in great condition (8/10), thoroughly cleaned, and free of rips, stains, odors, missing parts, or instability. You do not want to pay movers to bring items that could be rejected.

Reminder: Acceptance is always at our discretion after in-person inspection.

  • Armoires of any kind (including desk/wardrobe armoires)
  • Any cabinet designed for old-style TVs (cut-outs, pocket doors, built-in power)
  • Large entertainment units or multi-piece wall units
  • Multi-part entertainment units (we do not take individual pieces)
  • Display cases that appear to be part of multi-unit sets
  • China cabinets (subject to limited exceptions)
  • Patterned or striped upholstered items (subject to exceptions)
  • Incomplete sets (single dining chairs, partial dishware/glassware, etc.)
  • Mattresses
  • Large multi-piece desks, home-office/desk units
  • Damaged items (rips, seam tears, stains, missing veneer/hardware/shelves/keys, broken drawers/doors, scratches, gouges, wobbly frames, missing/scratched glass, tarnished/rusted metal, glued repairs)
  • Anything with odors (pets, cigarettes, mold/mildew, etc.)
  • Items with animal damage (e.g., cat scratches)
  • Lamps without shades, finials, or harps; unsafe/old/frayed wiring
  • Figurines (ceramic figurines, small animals, etc.)
  • Anything handmade or not professionally painted
  • Anything from IKEA, Walmart, K-Mart, Target, HomeGoods, etc.
  • Political items or anything potentially controversial
  • Wingback chairs (especially patterned)
  • Particle board/MDF items; flat-pack “built from a box” furniture
  • 1950–70s bedroom sets (with limited exceptions)
  • Bookcases not made of wood
  • Items with holes cut out of the back
  • Dirty items (fireplace tools, glassware, stemware, vases, decanters, etc.)
  • Cribs (even if convertible)
  • Games without all pieces
  • Garage-sale, Goodwill, or other thrift-store items
  • Items that cannot be priced higher than $25
  • Toys
  • Waterbeds
  • Card tables and metal folding chairs
  • Grandfather or mantel clocks (unless very cool, complete, and working)
  • Pie-top tables (flip-up top)

Heads-up: To avoid unnecessary moving costs, please review carefully before arranging delivery.

📋 Quality Guidelines

We accept quality furniture in nearly-new condition (8–10/10). Merchandise must be clean and floor-ready. The better it looks, the faster it sells!

Upholstered & Leather Furniture

  • Clean and stain/odor-free (smoke-free; pet-hair-free)
  • Vacuumed on and under cushions
  • No rips, stains, tears, worn upholstery, or sun discoloration
  • Cushions retain shape with minimal sagging
  • Stable construction

Hard Goods (Tables, Bookcases, Bedroom, etc.)

  • Dust- and cobweb-free; no watermarks or discoloration
  • No major scratches, chips, or noticeable flaws
  • All hardware present; drawers & doors operate properly
  • Hardware for unassembled items in a sealed, labeled bag
  • Legs and frame are sturdy

Final Inspection: Every piece is inspected upon arrival. We reserve the right to decline any items that do not meet our quality standards.
