Used Mattresses

🛏 Mattress Policy & Donation Options

Can I consign a used mattress at Miss Daisy’s?

Unfortunately, we cannot consign or sell used mattresses due to California state regulations. Businesses are prohibited from reselling used mattresses unless they meet strict sanitation and labeling requirements — and we’ve chosen not to sell them in-store to avoid those complications.

So what can I do with my mattress?

1. Sell It Yourself

If your mattress is clean and in good condition (no stains, tears, or odors), you are allowed to sell it privately through platforms like: Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace and Nextdoor. These are a great options for recouping some of your investment while finding a new home for your mattress.

2. Mattresses for a Cause (Donation Program)

We hate to see good-quality mattresses go to waste — especially when someone in need could use one.

If your mattress is:

Very clean and free of stains or damage

From a non-smoking, pet-free home

Less than 5 years old

…then we may be able to accept it through our Mattresses for a Cause program. These mattresses are stored and distributed to local individuals and families in need.

🟡 Please call ahead to see if your mattress qualifies. Space is limited and approval is required.

Why do we have this policy?

Used mattresses come with health, safety, and legal concerns — especially when handled by businesses. California laws are strict, and for good reason. But we’ve found a way to still help the community while staying within the rules, through personal sales and donations.
