The scene depicts kabuki actors Anashi Kitsusburo and Nakayama Icho and is presented in a frame with plexiglass and a single mat; framed size is approximately 17.5 inches high by 22 inches wide.
Gigadō Ashiyuki (fl. 1813–1833) was an Osaka-based ukiyo‑e designer renowned for kabuki actor portraits in ōban size. He studied under Asayama Ashikuni and was also a haiku poet. His prints frequently depict performers from the Osaka stage, and works by Ashiyuki are held in major museum collections worldwide.
Frame shows minor distressing and gilding wear; print condition is consistent with age. Provenance is not documented in the listing. For care, display away from direct sunlight and in a stable, dry environment; handle the frame with clean, dry hands or gloves and dust with a soft, dry cloth.
