Dennis Carney (American, b. 1960) was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He earned a B.F.A. in Advertising Art from the University of North Texas, and moved to Phoenix, Arizona to pursue fine art. Carney's work is known for layered textures and glazes, with imagery that evokes history, antiquity, and the cycles of nature. His practice reflects study with master ceramicist Peter Voulkos and a long-standing interest in natural forms and landscape.
