Miss Daisy's Consignment & Auction House presents a Mason's Patent Ironstone Mandalay lidded tureen set in a blue and gilt floral motif on a white ground. The 4-piece ensemble includes a lidded tureen with integrated side handles, a matching lid with a gilded finial, and two accompanying components for presentation and serving. Overall dimensions: 10.25 in high, 14.75 in wide, 10.5 in deep.
Mason's Patent Ironstone China was developed in 1813 by Charles James Mason of Lane Delph, Staffordshire, as a durable, mass-produced alternative to porcelain. The Mandalay pattern features vibrant blue and gilt floral motifs and was produced by Mason's Ironstone (later through G. L. Ashworth & Bros and the Wedgwood group). Mason's Ironstone became a widely collected English ironstone ware in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Excellent, flawless condition.
