Giovanni DeSimone (1930–1991) was a Sicilian ceramicist born in Palermo who established a ceramic workshop in Palermo in the 1950s, producing hand-painted maiolica and decorative wares. His studio tradition continued after his death, with his daughters Susanna and Margherita operating La Fabbrica della Ceramica in Palermo, continuing his distinctive colorful, folk-art-inspired style. DeSimone’s work is widely collected for its bright palettes and playful forms.
