Mattel Dior Barbie 1995 Gold Brocade Gown

The Christian Dior Barbie in this set was the first of two collectible Barbies released by Mattel in collaboration with the Parisian fashion house starting in 1995. This first Dior Barbie commemorated a design by Gianfranco Ferré, then the head of Christian Dior, that was first showcased on a wax model of Barbie in the Musée Grévin in Paris in 1993. This Barbie’s outfit is a miniature version of a look from the Autumn/Winter 1993 couture runway collection. The doll itself features intricate details, including an elaborate paisley brocade skirt, a beaded jacket, a chignon hairstyle, and specific accessories like goldtone earrings.

New, in box, never opened. Box has some wear and tear, but still in very good shape—from a private collection.
