French Art Deco jewelry box/casket by sculptor and bronze master Max Le Verrier, with a gilt bronze frame and ornate three-dimensional fringed tassel and droplet trim. The top lid features polished natural green hardstone panels with distinctive mineral veining. The box is paneled on all four sides and lined in plush brown velvet for jewelry storage or display.

The Max Le Verrier Foundry Stamp is marked on the metal upper rim with a continuous cursive foundry incised signature. The hinge is structurally sound, and the interior lining remains clean and intact.

Condition

Excellent vintage condition as shown in photos, with a soft original gilt bronze patina and securely set stone panels. No major chips or cracks noted in the stone, and the velvet lining is clean.

• Note for Advanced Collectors: Experienced Art Deco enthusiasts will note that Maison Le Verrier utilized two distinct workshop marks depending on the medium of the object. While his heavy bronze statues, lamps, and bookends are typically stamped with a circular "Le Verrier Paris" seal on their flat bases, his line of luxury decorative tableware (such as jewelry caskets, inkwells, and trays) utilized this straight, linear cursive stamp. This linear script was purposefully designed by the foundry to fit seamlessly along narrow borders, lips, and rims where a circular die-stamp could not physically be accommodated. Both marks represent authentic, authorized production from the historic Parisian workshop.
