Chinese Ba Xian–Style Square Dining Table with Carved Lion Masks & Iron Ring Hardware 50″ W × 50″ D × 36″ H

Dimensions: 50″ W × 50″ D × 36″ H

Description

Impressive Chinese Ba Xian–style square dining table featuring substantial wood construction, an intricately arranged geometric plank top, carved lion-like animal masks, and rustic iron ring hardware.

Inspired by the traditional Chinese Ba Xian, or “Eight Immortals,” dining table form, this distinctive piece features a generously proportioned square top supported by four substantial legs joined by a low rectangular stretcher base.

The table displays exceptional decorative character, including sculptural animal-mask carvings at the corners, shaped aprons with a central carved circular medallion, and aged iron ring fittings. The heavily weathered wood surface exhibits rich natural texture, deep grain, and an attractive timeworn patina.

The underside shows evidence of later wooden reinforcement and structural modifications, potentially undertaken to preserve or stabilize the table. The surface displays pronounced wear, natural checking, splits, and irregularities consistent with its rustic appearance.

Origin & Age: Chinese-style construction and decorative influences. Exact country of origin and date have not been independently authenticated. The table has been represented as potentially much older; however, no specific dynasty or century is attributed without further verification.

A remarkable statement piece suitable for a spacious dining room, grand entryway, or distinctive interior design installation.

Condition: Antique-style weathered condition with visible age-related wear, surface separations, and evidence of previous repairs or reinforcement. Sold as found, as-is.
