Antique Ghioirdes Handwoven Red Rug with Gold and Black Accents

Description: Ghiordes, Turkey, is a historically important weaving center, particularly well know for creating fine prayer rugs. This rug's symmetrical design, while usual, is a good example of the region. We believe this to be an antique produced c. 1900, which was also the opinion of our third party evaluation, however we do not have it's provenance. The knotting indicates it's origin as stated.
